Uncle "Xaretas" was a wise man.
He had dedicated his entire life as a farmer to taking care of the land, the orchards and gardens, at a time when tourism on the Costa Brava was incipient; the cars, scarce, and the time passed more leisurely.
His nephew Marc visited him every afternoon after school. Uncle "Xaretas" was passing on his knowledge: which plant wants shade and which one wants sun, what a tree needs in summer and what in winter, the times of flowering and fruit-picking driven by his love for nature. In 2016 Marc, Claudia and Xavier founded Jardinería Calonge-Sant Antoni, a small gardening company, close and personal.
Today, Jardinería Calonge-Sant Antoni has grown, but continues to be inspired by the same spirit: to build a bridge between the traditional wisdom of the peasantry, and current gardening.
